Research is at its best when clinicians and researchers work in partnership with patients and people from our local community.
To help with this, the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London have set up a new Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG) which will enable young people to get involved in research. Members will work together with other young people and the BRC team to deliver interesting projects throughout the year.
They will hold meetings every few months at Guy’s Hospital, London Bridge. The young people will also have the opportunity to listen to talks from our researchers and give feedback on current research projects.
This is a unique opportunity to hear about and influence ground breaking clinical research and to meet like-minded people. The group also offers members access to professionals in a wide range of health research careers who can share their knowledge, all of which is a great addition to CVs and UCAS applications.
The group is currently recruiting more members and applications are open to 14 – 18 year olds attending schools in Lambeth, Southwark or Lewisham. All expenses associated with attending meetings will be reimbursed, and refreshments will be provided.
